I worked every day around this spring solstice, from dawn until long past dark. While never imagining a series before I begin, it’s always interesting to look back at a concentrated body of work, and see what it is reflecting; that’s when they are titled. In the Midwest, March/April is when spring emerges, the colors are thrilling, coming out of the neutrals of our long winter. The daylight hours are balanced with the dark of night, which seems to make for high energy.
