New Work – High Plains

High Plains

The high plains wide, open spaces give birth to mile deep roots of grasslands, prairie flowers and legumes.  Rich animal and insect life are just below and on the ground, hawks and eagles and coyotes hunting, the blazing sun passing, the night moon rising.  Nearly silent when the air is still, the plains are then wildly dramatic when winds gain power whipping across the land, laying grasses flat to the ground.
